This resort is likely a written sculpture of Mark Flint’s life journey, an Australian surfer who personally dedicated nearly two years to complete his state of art and lifestyle, that’s been drifting him since he arrived in Lagundri Bay in the early ’80s.

Located right at Sorake Beach in Lagundri Bay, South Nias Regency in Northern Sumatra Province – Indonesia, KabuNohi Resort is built exactly in-front of the most consistent right hand reef break ever known on Earth. Just a two-minute walk to the keyhole, this place is undoubtedly the best accommodation in Sorake Beach area, where your dream comes to life.

A perfect spot for either individual or small group – even family vacation – an ideal place for coaching groms or women practicing local cuisine. Enjoy the unique megalithic culture by visiting traditional villages. For many years, South Nias has been visited by cruise ships, bringing western travelers to witness the magnificent war dance and stone jump at villages of Bawomatoluo, Orahili, Hiliamaetaniha and Hilisimaetano as well as Botohilitano.

Every bungalow fits twin or double bed and may have a third bed for children. A unique hexagonal shaped bungalow is made to ensure the view to different angles through large windows. Air-conditioner, cold and hot shower and modern toiletries are installed in every bungalow built in natural and rustic style interior and exterior. With most building materials locally sourced and crafted by local carpenters and labors, this resort is ready to accommodate guests in mid February 2017.

THE SURF

At KabuNohi, Surfing is our passion. The Point, our main break in Lagundri Bay, is one of the premier waves on the west coast of Sumatra, and it has earned its place amongst the best waves in the world.

Lagundri Bay is protected by hills and large coconut plantations that direct and fan the offshores down into the bay. Historically, Lagundri is little affected by any adverse winds, hence known to sailors as a good all-weather anchorage. Little is known, but Sorake has consistent surf all year round.

Besides the world class wave on our doorstep, we also have other surf options for you in the immediate area, several of which may depend on your surfing/waterman skills. In our immediate vicinity, there are locations that work on variety of conditions.
